SEAV TRAINING. Virtual Archaeology and Cultural Heritage International Campus

The new challenges of the business, social and cultural environment, demands versatile professionals able to create and manage innovative and dynamic projects. The challenges from competitiveness across global market or the rapid social changes are some factors that make necessary the continuing education of all professionals from different sectors that work, or pretend to work, in the rising field of cultural heritage. It is an unarguably true that there is a need at companies and institutions to the demands that the society of XXI century requires. That demands needs to develop a flexible and dynamic ways to understand and manage the cultural heritage.
 
In this context, Virtual Archaeology International Network, INNOVA and the Spanish Society of Virtual Archaeology, SEAV and twenty five research groups from international universities, proposed the creation of the first International Training Plan in Virtual Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, SEAV TRAINING. It is dedicated exclusively to the field of Digital Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, understood as a scientific discipline that aims to research and develop ways of applying visualization and computer-aided representation to Heritage Management.

This Training Plan, Virtual Archaeology and Cultural Heritage International Campus, SEAV TRAINING, is the training plan designed to upgrade the knowledge and skills of many professionals involved with the Cultural Heritage, with the continuous challenge that presents technological development today. For this purpose, INNOVA & SEAV, lead with solvent professionals the creation of various programs of studies, national and international, focusing on Cultural Heritage and Virtual Archaeology. This discipline is understood as research, documentation, conservation, preservation, dissemination and presentation of Archaeological and Cultural Heritage, aided by emerging technologies.
 
SEAV TRAINING offers its own degrees undergraduate and postgraduate, in an innovative teaching model, flexible and efficient. This program of studies is aimed at archaeologists, computer scientists, engineers, architects, surveyors, restorers, palaeobiologists, geographers, historians, educators, psychologists, museum curators, heritage experts, experts in cultural tourism, and people who are interested in improving their professional training in the field of Cultural and Archaeological Heritage.

Consequently, SEAV TRAINING should be seen as a systematic and planned strategy to improve the professionals in Cultural Heritage´s skills, enabling them to develop progressively complexes tasks, updating the knowlegements and skills demanded by the continuous technical development, and obtain an improvement in personal competent at complex area of Cultural Heritage.
       

 

Objectives

On the one hand Virtual Archaeology and Cultural Heritage International Campus, SEAV TRAINING, seeks to answer to the needs that XXI century society raises in relation to the management of its Archaeological Heritage and on the other, to the expectations of the professionals of present and future. That is why its main purpose is to ensure quality updating and improving the knowledge, skills and attitudes. The specific objectives are pursued:
 
– SUPPLY the professionals of Cultural Heritage with the necessary competences for the adecuate developement of their work position.
– PROMOTE the change and innovation, as a dynamic evolution and continuous improving.
– ENCOURAGE professional´s empleability, increasing their employment oportunities.
– CONTRIBUTE to incorporation at labour market of highly qualified professionals.
– CONTRIBUTE to the development of a coordinated policy of education between all experts that works nowadays at newest technologies for improving processes of researching, conservation and dissemination of Cultural Heritage.
– MAKE EASIER the professional´s adaptation to changes produced by modernization progress of manager´s systems.
– MAKE EASIER the continuous and necessary adaptation of professionals to the innovation.
